Other than her enthusiastic willingness to say things that rival even her bitter and |
|
arrogant old man for "mean-spiritedness" and hypocrisy, just what are Liz Cheney's qualifications to appear on political talk shows and grace us with her opinions about the issues of the day?
Who decided that this twisted little twit had something worthwhile to say?
Why do people who actually have some intellect and integrity agree to appear on these programs and lower themselves to her level by pretending to respect her opinion?
Like those other two Republican spokeswomen, Sarah and Michelle, the offerings of Liz can usually be summed up as "word vomit".
That their words are featured on so-called "serious" news programs puts the lie to any contention that the MSM is anything but a corporate megaphone.
As a side note, George Steponallofus is an amazingly inept cream puff who actally makes Gregory look "tough" by comparison.

1. It's all about entertainment, Atticus. We've lost the fourth pillar thanks |
|
to deregulation of the media. We're in a world of hurt.

2. Corporations rely on brand names to sell product. |

Think of her as the Coke Zero, if you will.

5. You deserve some sort of award or official recognition for that perfect analogy. |

It's perfect.

4. Maybe we should all write letters...AND DO NOT SEND EMAILS |
|
as they are ignored. Requesting that we have opinions on the present day political scene. That our opinions are more in line with the American Public and not just the republican swamp rats. If everybody started writing letter after letter after letter, they would eventually have to let us get on the shows. We make as much sense as the crap they feed us.

7. I have two competing theories: |
|
(1) Modern advertising requires an unhappy audience, which is to be convinced that consuming more useless junk will bring happiness. So the news broadcasting is designed to make folk feel as unhappy and nervous as possible; and the commercials can then concentrate more effectively on promises that buying the product will bring happiness and tranquility
(2) The corporate media functions in assembly line fashion. Bringing in smart folk who can say intelligent things involves to much work: you have to thing of smart questions, and you have to edit the interviews so they still make sense. It's easier to bring in an asshole blowhard who will spit out a nasty five second soundbite every thirty seconds, in response to whatever questions you ask, and then you can chop a ten second clip here and a ten second clip there and there and paste them together in whatever order you like, because it really doesn't make any difference what you leave in and what you snip out
