1. oh my- that's bad
I hate to see all that wine go to waste...

glad no one was hurt, but this SoCal resident knows how scary these things are. My thoughts are with those who had to experience this.

5. Ya, these pics really make it look mild,
My best friend's son goes to college up there...power it still out, gas lines broken and the kids in the dorms are not allowed to burn candles...the school is shut down for a indeterminate amt of time...it will probably take a week or more to get things repaired. so it wasn't a walk in the park. 6.5 isn't anything to sniff at, I know we here in CA are pretty conditioned to handle earthquakes and yet this is still serious.

BTW...the ring of fire has been hot thie past few months, this is the first of it's kind to hit on the eastern edge of those plates... I am afraid there are more on the way. Hang on CA!

6. Funny quote from another story:

"Marshall Boyett of McKinleyvile was driving when the earthquake hit.

"It was like the street was breakdancing," Boyett said."

7. That area could potentially experience a magnitude 8+ quake because of
the plates that meet in the area and slip under/over each other. Subduction zone or some such.

I would love to live there, it's so beautiful. But oh, the risk........

8. Very happy to hear no one was seriously hurt. But, oh my gods, look at the

broken bottles of vino.

That is a travesty.
