So, for these people who think it is a choice to be gay......... |
|
has anybody ever dared them to prove that? French kissing a member of the same sex would go a long way to proving it to me.
I understand the idea is kind of silly, but it kind of isn't. And I think it makes a very good argument.
If a person can just chose which sex they are attracted to, it shouldn't be any challenge at all for a heterosexual guy to french kiss another guy. Simply chose to be attracted to guys for a while, easy. Kissing isn't even breaking marriage vows or anything.
This seems obvious to me.

1. Stupid analogy. There are a lot of things I just don't like the taste of |
|
Human sexuality is far more complex than the things I choose to put in my mouth.

5. So, You'd Be Cool Kissing a Guy If He Passed Your "Taste Test"? |
|
I had no idea that human sexuality was based on the same criteria as not liking broccoli. I guess in that case, I could develop a taste for girls, just like I developed a taste for red peppers.

4. The "gay is a choice" argument is a red herring |
|
and people in favor of gay rights shouldn't fall for it.
Lots of things are choices, such as one's religion, but we don't allow discrimination based on those choices.

7. Huh, that's a good point. A very good point. |
|
I do think though, that since homophobia is so entrenched in this country, it might be worth while arguing both fronts. Gays will be dismissed as making bad choices, and therefore not taken seriously. And they don't have the numbers to force the issue.

9. That's right. It doesn't matter if it's a choice or not. |
|
I personally think it isn't a choice, at least for me, but I have known people who claimed that they chose to be gay. People should accept others regardless of whether they've made a choice or if they were born a certain way.

8. Even the two most horny straight guys aren't |
|
going to strike out with the ladies and decide to just go home and do each other. It might feel just as good and satisfy them if they did but it's not gonna happen. For most of us it wouldn't work ,even if we tried it, we couldn't. That's how I know that gay people must just naturally be that way somehow.

I tried that once. It was one of those "what the hell, what have I got to lose?" moments. It was pretty gross. My friend, who was gay, just kinda looked at me and was like, "No, that's not for you." I never did that again. I don't regret it, and I don't regret the fact that I just LOVE the ladies.

You can be our official test case. 1 real experience is worth a lot more than a truckload of assumptions.
Maybe you should have tried it with ketchup? Everythings better with ketchup.;-)

15. Only idiots can possibly think that it's a choice to be gay. Therefore, suggesting |
|
someone dare them to prove it is wasted breath.
It's best to just tell them to fuck off and throw their religious propaganda in the trash. Then remind yourself why you're fighting this sort of bullshit.

16. You know those guys (and it's mostly guys) who swear up and down that being gay is a choice? |
|
I strongly suspect that they are closet bisexuals, and for them, it actually IS a choice to suppress the homoerotic side of their nature.
Otherwise, why would they be so adamant if they weren't afraid of their own impulses?
