Yes, another thread about Reid's comment. I worked for 15 years, tangentially, in the advertising industry and every single corporation asked for models that were "not too ethnic". Without a doubt, for the white consumer public, black models with features that conform to white advertising standards of beauty (slim, thin lips & nose, light skin), will sell a product better than what most of African American's I know perceives as beautiful.
Do I think the standard is wrong? Oh yes I do. Do I think Reid is wrong for understanding that American's will not vote for a candidate that is "not too ethnic"? No I don't.
