So two RW mouthpieces put out a tabloid style book and the BOOM! goes the media. |
|
Will we talk about healthcare, national security, education, banking reform or any other issues of immediate importance this week? How convenient it is that this book appears now. Feeding the beast.

At least according to the MSM. I read all the parts about Cindy McCain possibly having an affair, Both of the Edwards not being what they had presented to the public at first, Hillary and Bill and their escapades, Obama and Biden not getting along at times and all the rest of it and it all had a slimy not so true feel to it. Yuck.

2. agree, a little weird. |

I can enjoy some gossipy political stuff, but I find it strange that this book seems to go so much farther in terms of gossip, where many of these other campaign books didn't have a lot of this stuff. Mark Halperin is just so special that tons of people were blabbing to him? I think most of the stuff in this book has grains of truth, but it seems like they stretched some of the details . WHen Halperin was "recounting" the conversation between Obama and Clinton in the SOS phone call, you could see the sparkle in his eyes where he is literally making shit up as he went along, as if he was there. The "Obama said 'look. I'm going to have my hands full with the economy..." blah blah blah. The whole famewhore alliance between politico, etc.

4. I like campaign backstory, so I'm going to read it |

I probably wouldn't bother with a book by Mark Halperin, but John Heilemann is a pretty good political writer (if he is an RW mouthpiece, I would be surprised). I'm not going to judge a whole book on one chapter, either.

5. I agree with your point but they are hardly RW mouthpieces |
|
BTW, Howard Dean made the same point just now on Morning Joe.
