I won't defend the phrasing Harry Reid apparently used when describing Obama. BUT...
I think it IS true that an African American candidate has a better chance of being elected president if that candidate is 1) male 2) light-skinned and 3) talks more like a middle-class white banker than, say, a rapper (or, for that matter, more like a middle-class white banker than, say, an Appalachian white coal miner).
Just sayin'.
