7. Freedom to Marry is a libertarian position.
Not that I agree with most anything the conservatives believe in, but this is something that a *real* conservative should be in favor of.

10. Libertarians are generally right on social issues
They only start dreaming when they talk about economics, something they have absolutely no clue about.

8. Cooper: Marriage centers on procreation.
Edited on Mon Jan-11-10 01:52 PM by Kadie
Cooper: Marriage centers on procreation. Should not be "transformed into a pvt relationship designed simply to provide...
adult couples w/ personal fulfillment."

I guess that means no more marriage for seniors and the infertile?

12. They are back after a break...plaintiff Jeffrey Zarrillo is on the stand
Back in, plaintiff Jeffrey Zarrillo is on the stand. He's 36 years old, close cut hair, talking about coming out. Boies doing the exam

....

Zarrillo choking up on stand while talking about boyfriend: "He's the love of my life. I love him probably more than I love myself."

Pretty emotional direct exam. Curious how #Prop8 supporters will handle cross examination. Very delicately, I would bet
half a minute ago from web

Zarrillo: Domestic ptnrshp is third class citizenship. "It's giving me part of the pie, but not the whole thing." Doesn't give due respect

#prop8 Zarillo is candid, emotional on the stand: "Coming out is a personal and internal process."

Now Zarrillo's partner, Paul Katami, is on

Katami: "Being married allows us access to the language. Being able to call him my husband is so definitive...We both dislike ‘lover.'”

Katami on discrimination: "No way to really describe how it feels. And I'm a proud man. I'm proud to be gay. I'm a natural born gay."
less than 10 seconds ago from web

Katami talking about rocks being hurled at him. Judge Walker is completely impassive through this and all other testimony so far
