Just GOT BACK FROM TEA PARTY PROTEST
There were two groups of protesters. One group was laid off Auto workers, who want jobs for America. Then there were the Tea baggers. When I first arrived in Downtown Detroit I made it my business to first drive by Cobo Hall where the Auto Show is being held.I arrived there around 9:45 a.m. There were three men in U.A.W. jackets standing in front of the Cobo Center across the street with picket signs that read jobs for America. I went and found a parking space and parked.Jumped on the people mover at Bricktown and got out at the Renaissance Center where the G.M. Headquarters is located.I walked around the complex searching endlessly for the infamous tea baggers but somehow they were eluding me.After purchasing a cup of coffee from Mickey D's,I spotted them on the ramp overhead leaving out of the Rena Cen.there were about ten of them with their little teabag signs. Before I could catch up to them they had exited through the Hotel lobby and down Jefferson Ave.west toward Cobo Hall.I decided to catch the people mover around to Cobo Center to see how many protesters there were.As the train passed by i could see the protesters who had just left the Ren Cen walking in that direction. As we neared Cobo I could see a few more,so i decided to ride through back to my car so i could drive by and get a closer look.I went back to Cobo Hall and when i got there low and behold some actual tea baggers shivering in Detroit. They were on the other side of the street with police separating them from the U.A.W.There may have been twenty or so tea baggers. Some had pictures of our President as the Joker with the Stethoscope and God Bless America, and flags. There were no black eyes or busted lips,no foot up nobody's keyster.Only a group of people who should learn to dress for our beautiful Michigan weather.I left the tea baggers who's protest was to start at 9:30am but didn't get underway until about 10:45, around 12 noon.you know they were smiling for the camera.Sometimes i can't stand the MSM some things are just not news.

I saw in my city and could not get over the negative racial vibes I felt.

16. vibes?
That's how you tell if someone is racist? I'll have to try that. It's so much less rigorous than my method of actually listening to a person, or--oh no--getting to know him or her.

and relatively unknown species that has just surfaced since the election of President Obama. It was like going on Safari, these are some rare creatures and one only gets to see them during tea bag mating season. When they join with other tea baggers:P :P :P

10. The point is
that WE were accused by them of being unpatriotic for such actions during the Bush administration. You've missed the posters *snicker* at the Rpublican hypocracy.

39. Pretty sure the poster above was being sarcastic.
We were endlessly bashed for criticizing Dubya during "a time of war", but apparently because Obama's a Democrat (and black) it's OK to go at him.

11. Someone should have beaten them up. They are AGAINST jobs for America

The believe in FREE MARKET CAPITALISM

And that means they support...

GLOBALIZATION AND FREE TRADE AGREEMENTS!

SHIPPING JOBS TO CHINA AND INDIA!

And the complete destruction of the middle class in America!

They will deny this but....

THEY ARE LIARS!

in some places but when you talk about bringing your tea bag game to Detroit you better be up on your s--t. We don't play selling wolf tickets here despite the fact there are so many people out of work don't let the smooth taste fool you,we got our hustle on and making it,so we are not afraid to purchase a dozen or so of a tea baggers wolf tickets or tea cups. And you are very welcome anytime i can give it to straight.

29. I think I saw that rally. It was the weekend the rest of us had the White House quad completely
surrounded, streets packed curb-to-curb with people of ALL ages and types, and when it completed the square the beginning of our march met the end of the march, and STILL people were coming to join our resistance against Bush's War.

Everyone was spontaneously singing and rejoicing at finding one another, not at all like the sad desultory little bunch in this photo.

23. You have to upload them to a pic hosting site
like photobucket or flickr. Once you do that, each pic will have a url. Copy that url in your DU post, then post the message. Then everyone here will be able to see your pics.

34. I was downtown from about 10:00 am until after 2:00pm and didn't see anything
and I drove right past the front of Cobo, had to make an illegal turn because people were parked in the thru land and I went straight through in the left turn only lane (at the stop sign, to go down to the river side of Cobo)

This must have been one very sad protest if I drove right past it and didn't even notice.
