Suze Orman doesn't want to be taxed to pay for health insurance. |
|
She said it on Morning Joe. I just decided I don't want to buy her books either.

1. I can't stand that woman. One time she was on one of the shows |
|
trying to "connect" with the average person and she cited advice given to her by her driver! That Suze, she's a woman of the people.

but she's helped a lot of people think differently about their finances. Her "I made it from nothing, and you can, too!" story might be bunk, or simply unworkable for most people, but the idea of not pissing away every dollar on Chinese made crap has helped quite a few people get on the right track financially.

Loved Lawrence O'Donnell's response. Said he and most Dems would be willing to do without her vote and the people who make over $500,000 a year.

Suze Orman has a great big, fat mouth. It certainly shut her up for a while...ouch...

6. Well there's a whole lot of things I don't want to be taxed for |
|
but health insurance is pretty goddamn far down the list.
Let's see there's giving my tax dollars to banks so they can give them to rich executives instead of loaning them out to people like me.
And then there's starting wars everywhere on earth so rich executives of government contractors can glom onto more of my tax dollars.
Even in the field of health insurance, there's forcing everybody to buy insurance from private companies, so that the fat cats who run these companies can grow even fatter.
I have pretty good health insurance - Medicare and a supplement furnished as part of my retirement plan. I would not mind my taxes being used to provide similar coverage for all Americans.
Somehow I don't think that's what Ms Orman is advocating.

11. Someone else should pay for it |
|
Everyone if for health care reform, as long as someone else is paying for it. Just ask the AFL-CIO.

15. We're all already paying too much.. |
|
that's what the 'reform' is supposed to address. It should be paying us a dividend, not costing us more money.

12. I'm not a fan of hers, but this is an issue with a lot of domestic partnerships |
|
Unfortunately the OP just knee jerked without any context but in Suzy's case and many other similar couples in a domestic partnership adding your partner to your health insurance creates a bit of a tax issue that apparently isn't a problem if you are married couple.
So it's not a I'm rich and dont want to pay taxes whine it's a marriage equality isse.

13. Well then, let's' just tax her on gerenal principles. People of her income level have |
|
been getting a break long enough. And while we're at it, let's have her pay SS tax on all her income, not just the first $90K.
