From the Virginia Pilot online: "Dave Marsden's special election victory Tuesday evening is one of the few bright spots for Virginia Democrats this election cycle.

A state Delegate from Fairfax, Marsden narrowly defeated Republican Steve Hunt for the state Senate seat being vacated by Attorney General-elect Ken Cuccinelli (R), according to unofficial results from the State Board of Elections."



Marsden is an old school politician famous for knocking on every door in his District. He's a good guy.

His opponent, Republican Steve Hunt, was censored and thrown off the school board a few years back for promoting an anti-science curriculum, giving speeches about losing his virginity, and declaring that the main mission of public schools should be to counteract the homosexual agenda.

3. Yeah after McDonnell and Cucinelli winning in the last election, I have been pretty depressed.

Hunt winning would have really hurt since he is such an obvious religious fanatic with zero intent on doing anything worthwhile for the State.
