How much money will the Vatican give to Haiti?
I predict that the Vatican will deplete its coffers to aid the people of Haiti.

4. Considering that they want health care reform extended to illegal aliens, I wouldn't be surprised.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops call it a basic right.

I read that the pope is telling the world to donate - I hope they lead the way.

8. Not the Vatican per se, but Catholic Relief Services is already on the job.

12. They've said that they would pull out of inner city DC if gay marriage is approved.
They have show us locals that helping the poor and needy are not as important as trying to control the private lives of everyone, even not-catholics.

9. Maybe they'll be treated to a audio recording from the Pope
lauding the importance of "humility," chastising them for abortion, and announcing his gifting of a set of red Prada slippers to the local Archbishop.

:sarcasm:

I'd like to be proven horrendously wrong. Catholic charities do much good throughout the world, but I see little of this coming from the Vatican.

11. Catholic Charities are incredibly hardworking and efficient. The Vatican exists for show
for the most part.

15. deplete its coffers ?
Deplete? - doubt it. Catholic Charities will spend a bunch but I doubt much of a dent will be made in the Vatican's coffers.
