they hear the word "compromise" or "centrist"; politics isn't about the issues, it's about winning the horse race with the most seats in Congress, and personality politics in "feeling good" about this candidate or that, into whom they pour all their hopes and dreams--regardless of whether the candidate ever carries them out; they just want to kiss the hem of His clothes and throw themselves across puddles so He may walk on their backs
moderation and compromise become goals unto themselves, since they're the potent "only way anything gets done"--despite FDR's running roughshod over the Hooverite and pro-Nazi GOP 1933-37

centrist does leave a horrible bitter taste in my mouth. I just see the Tsunami coming in 2010. We pinned our hopes on our party. Our party died long ago. The mighty oak is rotten to the core yet outwardly it seems the same until it falls.
