Morning Joke: Mika and Her Father |
|
I thought I noticed something a while back when Mika's father was on the show. In fact, I didn't know he was on the show until later. Mika's makeup was WAY toned down that morning, and I commented on it to my wife. No dark eyebrows, neutral lipstick, etc. She just looked different.
When her father showed up, I wondered if he was the reason for her forgoing the beauty treatment that morning.
So, today, Dad was back on the show and, sure enough, there was the modest, toned down Mika. It WAS her father that was the influence.
I wonder if this dates back to a time when Mika was a teenager and her father disapproved of her makeup one time. "You look like a whore!" in his inimitable accent. I can hear it now. I can imagine it quite clearly.
Anyhow...the idle musings of a viewer, I guess...

1. Very perceptive of you... |
|
If we want to go Freudian on Mika, there's plenty of observations one can make from watching her behavior.
Mika comments on her father and her family a great deal. She has said that she "was the runt of the family" when she was growing up. She describes her father as being incredibly driven and her siblings very talented. It sounds like Mika might have been a late bloomer, and I bet you anything she was made to feel inferior and constantly berated into being a superstar, like the rest of the her family members.
I could have guessed that she had issues--by watching her behavior with Scarborough. I actually stopped watching the show, because Mika was so pathetic. She'd sit there saying NOTHING for long stretches of time. She could spend 15 minutes nodding her head, never commenting and being bullied into agreeing with Joe. He would often make jokes about her drinking and having alcohol in her coffee cup. I have no idea if she had a drinking problem of what was going on, but it was bizarre.
I think there are some major father/daughter issues there...
Interesting that she would tone down the make-up in the presence of her father...

2. I've never been able figure out why Mika is even on |
|
that program. Maybe as a stooge for Joe's lame attempts at humor. I don't know, but she spends most of her time making faces at whatever other people say. I watch the show for half an hour in the morning when I finish my second cup of coffee after reading the newspaper. It helps me with elimination.

8. She said what her purpose is on the show, in tht commercial. |
|
She said that she figured out that her job is to put out her opinion, so they can shoot it down. She is the socalled liberal side punching bag. And so plays mommy for out of control, needs a nap joe.

6. All of that must have skipped a generation with Mika, I think. |
|
I see little evidence of intellectualism in her contribution to that program. Maybe I should watch it for a longer period, when she is saying things that are clever.

9. Don't confuse intellectual with dipshit |
|
Just because her father can twist logic like a circus clown with balloons doesn't mean he is an intellectual. To figure him out, all you have to know is what do the wealthy want to do to squeeze more out of the working man. That is the desired end result, and all the blather, positing, discourse and dialogue he spouts is aimed to that end. He is NOT an intellectual.

We know it's not the same thing but Mika doesn't know that.

So, when Dad's not on, she can look like a silly, vapid seat-warmer, but when Dad's on, she tries to look like she has a real job? Got it.

allowed an incredible amount of money to be directed to Gulbuddin Hekmatyar who Pakistan trusted to be "their guy", he in turn launched assaults against the mujahideen (our allies) killing thousands. He was friendly with Osama Bin Laden and they both in turn empowered each other, where AQ was essentially born on the battlefields of Afghanistan.
In the late 1980s, Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto, concerned about the growing strength of the Islamist movement, told President George H. W. Bush, "You are creating a Frankenstein." But lets not forget where this idea came from, your guy, Zbigniew Brzezinski.
Many historians and foreign policy wonks believe that the Soviets would have done themselves in without the CIA's involvement in Operation Cyclone. The Soviet Union's crumbling infastructure was what not only lost them the Soviet/Afghan war but ended the cold war.
Just dont tell that to supporters of Zbigniew and Ronald Reagan.
