Woman Tries to Trade Child for Gun |
|
Arizona Woman Arrested for Giving 2-Year-Old Daughter up in Exchange for Weapon>
(AP) Authorities say they have arrested an Arizona woman who traded her 2-year-old daughter for a gun.
Maricopa County sheriff's deputies arrested 33-year-old Tanya Nareau of Mesa on Tuesday after receiving a tip.
Deputies say they spoke with a family friend who had the child and confirmed Nareau gave the girl to him for gun.
Deputies say Nareau felt the friend would do a better job raising the child than she would.
Authorities say Nareau has been charged with the unlawful sale of a child and solicitation to possess a weapon by a prohibited person.
It was unclear if Nareau had legal representation.

electronic games, only one old TV and a lot of books. They would be bored to death, probably eat more.
Actually I played in a bar band my last 1 1/2 years of high school, managed to sleep through most of it.
My wife dealt with her last year in HS by almost never showing up and creating so much trouble when she did they gave her a diploma so she would never come back.
Of course that was in the old days before all that stupid counseling and shit.

23. Thank you, that was an interesting read...... |
|
Although I found my daughter to be the most difficult of the 3. She is actually 21 now and living on her own as a responsible, well adjusted young woman. So I suppose there is hope for the boys.....
Ironically, I received a "robo" call from the High School principal last night. It was to inform parents that while there had been a gun incident at the school that day, no shots were actually fired. Needless to say, I was stunned. I can't say that I was exactly reassured by the statement that no shots were fired. I asked the boys if they knew what it was about, and the younger one stated, "yeah, there was supposed to be some kind of a 'shoot out', but I dunno what happened with that." As if this were just a normal, everyday occurrence.
WTF??????
Sad that our kids are having to deal with this kind of "reality" on a daily basis. Putting it into perspective, my kids are really NOT that bad! There are worse problems out there than laziness, slovenliness and being constant "eating machines".
And maybe I shouldn't have been making light of the tragic OP story.

10. So this looked like a reasonable solution |
|
Taking everything at face value, Mom didn't think she could raise her child very well. Calls friend, and offers to hand over daughter, because friend can raise daughter better. And, getting a quo for her quid (kid), she would like the friend's gun. Somewhere in this woman's mind, this appeared to be not just a reasonable solution, but a desireable outcome. The gun was more valuable to her than her daughter, given her circumstances.
There's a LOT to say about that, but I'm trying to keep my New Year's resolution.

How do they check to make sure it's unloaded and clear? More importantly, do they make silencer for kids? Especially for 2-6 yr olds!
