I'm watching The View and Elisabeth Hasselbeck is saying Robertson is wrong in what he said recently regarding what happened to Haiti. And if that isn't enough, she's saying Obama is right for giving moral and material support to them. I can't believe it.

We were hippie professors' kids, and my older sister became part of the kids PTL club in the early 70s (at age 9?) just because it was funny. I went to Heritage USA in my early 20s--my plant-enhanced days--and rode the Jesus train. A transcendent experience I'll never forget. I still have my Heritage USA potholder. ;-)

Crazy Christian TV shows then were quaint, amusing add-ons to late-night parties. Neither respectable Southern Conservatives nor Liberals wanted anything to do with them.

I confess I didn't take the warnings about the evangelical right seriously enough. Never thought they'd infiltrate govt to the degree they did during Bush. By then, watching the 700 Club had become considerably less amusing.
