Has anyone seen these GREAT CT-Sen poll numbers?
Quinnipiac has its first numbers (1,430 RVs, 1/8-12, MoE +/- 2.6%) on the Connecticut Senate race since Chris Dodd (D) announced he would not seek re-election last week. The results show why Democrats were so eager to see Attorney General Richard Blumenthal jump in to replace the embattled incumbent.

General Election Matchups
Blumenthal 62 -- Simmons 27 -- Und 10
Blumenthal 64 -- McMahon 23 -- Und 11
Blumenthal 66 -- Schiff 19 -- Und 14

Consider that in a November poll, Dodd trailed former Rep. Rob Simmons 49-38 and former WWE CEO Linda McMahon 43-41. Suddenly that GOP primary doesn't look worth winning, but here's how that contest shapes up:

Primary Election Matchup
Simmons 37 (+9)
McMahon 27 (+10)
Schiff 4 (-1)
Und 28 (-8)

He did...I give Dodd credit for doing the right thing...nice to know a politician
can put aside his ego for a while.

2. I really wish Blumenthal had run for the Senate in 2006. Lieberman
would have been creamed in the primaries, and would NEVER have won as an Independent Rethug.

9. Agree. He's not behaving like someone with an eye toward a future election.
He just doesn't give a damn.

Good riddance.

10. My father, a life-long Dem always supported Holy Joe, saying even after 2006
it was the Dems who abandoned him, yada, yada, yada, but with his HCR ploy, my father finally ahd enough.

12. As a former CT resident of over 20 years, I only voted for LIEberman
in one election. I voted for Weicker in 1988. In 2000, it was a choice between LIEberman and the pedophile. I voted for LIEberman.

14. Lieberman wasn't Liarberman in 2000...not yet...
...I still think he was a d**k at that time, though.

15. He was a jerk in 1988, also. I had always liked Weicker for his
Watergate hearing roll in the Senate. The Sleeping Bear ad is what I am referring to. Couldn't find it on the googles.

16. Weiker was way more liberal than Holy Joe ever was....
...and also had much less "D" in his DNA make-up.
