teddy, sweetheart, yes the U.S. bears a chunk of responsibility for Haiti's woes but history didn't start in 1910.

No.

We had the opportunity to either aid Haiti or to exploit it. Everything that has happened there in the past 100 years is because of OUR policies - policies which we could have changed at any time. France washed their hands of it a hundred years ago. They may have started it, but we've owned it for a long, long time.

21. Conveniently overlooks France's responsibility....
Just because a country is in the Western Hemisphere doesn't make the US "responsibile" for its condition. Haiti is and was influenced by French colonial rule. That's a fact.
