Harry Reid had an observation in a private conversation about the chances of a minority candidate getting votes while supporting that candidate. Trent Lott publicly stated we'd have been much better off if racists ran the federal government. Now those two examples are exactly the same. I read it in letters to the editor this morning in a red state newspaper.
