Eight-Year-Old on TSA Terrorist Watchlist Gets Frisked

The Transportation Security Administration, attempting to squelch nefarious rumors, has asserted on its web site under a “Mythbuster” feature that “No 8-year-old is on a T.S.A. watch list.”

Unfortunately for the TSA, the New York Times found an 8-year-old on its list.

Mikey Hicks, a Cub Scout in Camden, New Jersey, is a frequent flyer who can’t seem to get a break because he shares a name with another Michael Hicks who has drawn suspicion from the Department of Homeland Security.

...snip...

Mikey, who was born less than a month before the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, received his first pat-down by TSA screeners when he was 2 years old — an experience that left him in tears.

1. There is no end to America's stupidity
The Twilight Zone had nothing on reality.

I don't know if this country can survive, but I'm starting to think that we shouldn't.

No one as stupid and hateful as we are should ever have this much power.

12. I've heard toads in pockets transmit warts.
Likewise, bits of string can be used to choke GI Joes to death, and chewing gum could be stuck under plane seats, rendering their floatation capability useless. Why do 8 year old boys hate America??

:P

10. Perfect.
Well, Yoo I believe, said the executive branch could torture children, so I guess frisking 2 year olds isn't the worst thing. I'm also glad Democrats were reasonable and did not impeach the bush administration. That wouldn't be bi-partisan and would be too liberal. And thank god for the gang of 14 and unitary executives.

:sarcasm:

11. I do not understand why so many people still fly.
Seriously....I don't get it.
I refuse to. And have driven across the country to avoid it.
And would again.
I keep thinking that at some point airlines have to be facing money problems, but apparently
people are willing to go thru the insanity of ever changing rules about flying.

13. People still fly because:
A) their jobs demand it and their want to pay for them to miss eight days of work on the road traveling between California and NYC;

B) they only get a week vacation and would rather spend most of it with family or at a vacation site a two-day drive away than in a car for four days (r/t);

C) emergencies necessitate they get some place in hours not days (think of dying relatives across the country).
