Read the GOP Platform lately? You should.
We support free speech! But not flag burning!

We support equal rights! But not for gay people!

We support women! But we're calling for 14th Amendment equal protection rights to be assigned to fetuses!

On every issue, there appears to be no end to Republican hypocrisy and stupidity. I've discovered many rank-and-file Republicans have no idea of how outrageous their own party's platform has become. And most independents are shocked by it.

My point? Print out the GOP's platform and circulate it to people (preferably Republicans) you know will be offended by it. It's one of the most effective ways to insure they'll never regain power in our country.

2. Nothing mentioned about obstructionism?

I thought that was their #1 priority?

4. But that would be hypocritical.
They attacked Democrats for being obstructionists (particularly Tom Daschle, resulting in his defeat in 2004) when Bush was President.

Actually I guess they're hypocritical whether they mention it or not.

3. I requested, obtained and read an official GOP platform statement
back in the late 70's.

Reading it then had largely the effect the you expect it to have now.

Sounds like it's only gotten worse.

6. The most effective way to insure Repukes never regain power in our country
is for Democrats to start acting like Democrats. Nothing else will do.

9. To claim the 14th should apply to fetuses
but not to gay people is something we'd expect to see from Iran, or the Taliban.
