i've been seeing his signs all over the place.
it bugs me when that happens on either side of the aisle- a political position being 'handed down' from father to son, wife, daughter, etc...
their main qualification is name recognition.

1. Love their little debt counter.
Like they have NOTHING to do with that...

Of course we are doing little to counter it as well.

2. I'm sensing a broader backlash against this kind of thing lately.
Locally I think reaction to Todd Stroger had a lot to do with it.

7. Did you see today's paper?
The Ledger Sentinel's LTTE has someone writing in supporting him on how he'll improve existing infrastructure and expand highway opportunities, etc. How many times does our community have to repeat that we don't want the trashway (AKA Prairie Pkwy) - and you know a big motivation behind him running is to preserve and expand on that project. All in the name of Daddy, of course.

10. i don't think he's come out of any closets...but gay men can father children.
especially if they deny it for a big part of their life.
a good friend of my parents, a married middle school principal with two kids 'turned' gay in his mid-forties.

13. the signs just started popping up around here over the last couple days...
i'm sure that they'll spread like a cancer across the district between now and FEBRUARY 2ND.

and THAT'S another thing that PISSES me off about this selection cycle- the PRIMARY selection is more than 9 MONTHS before the general selection. no wonder selections cost so much for the candidates.

the time between the primary and the general should be 2-3 months TOPS.
