In today's WTF dept - the hypocrisy of Wells Fargo's 100K donation to Haiti. |
|
100,000.00. I saw this when I signed on to do some banking, and it made me laugh (though not because it is funny) that they have the gall to post this on their website like it is something honorable. That is likely less than many of the bonuses they are giving to their likely overpaid leadership. Then you et Walmart with their "generous" gift of 500K.
We are having a crisis of humanity. As in our human species having a crisis of understanding what it is to care for each other, for our world, for those that are less fortunate than us - and it appears to be world wide, with some exceptions, of course.

1. Rank bullshit. If the donation were $1, you would still have no right to judge. |
|
This Haiti crisis has brought out the absolute worst in a lot of DU posters.

3. I wonder what percentage of their worth the DUers have donated when they insult donation amounts |

or insult the courage of reporters as they post on DU and are as far from the front lines as one could possibly get. Armchair quarterbacks.

5. As someone who was laid off last year, let's just say the percentage |
|
difference should be an embarrassment to Wells Fargo.

2. I noticed it too and really had we not bailed them out, I would be more charitable |
|
But honestly, when rich Liberals like Tiger Woods and Brad Pitt are donating millions, it just looks chintzy to be touting such a relatively small amount.
Last week they wanted to give me a stuffed pony if I opened another account. I don't think they hang out in the tubes enough to get the irony of that.
