Never give to the DNC, DSCC, or DCCC - give to LIBERAL./PROGRESSIVE Democratic candidates DIRECTLY.
Whenever you give to the DNC, the DSCC, or the DCCC they match your donation with a large corporation's donation and pick a corporatist candidate to back and the CORPORATION gets the credit and the ear of that corporatist candidate.

Whenever you give directly to the LIBERAL/PROGRESSIVE candidate of YOUR choice then you get to pick a candidate who believes in the same things you do and who will listen to YOU and not the big corporate donor whenever an important issue like regulating banks and investment firms, protecting American jobs, strengthening American unions, raising minimum wage, or providing government single payer health CARE (not insurance) to all Americans comes up.

The same goes to donating to your state party as opposed to donating directly to the campaign of the Democratic state legislator of your choice.

I practice this policy and you can bet the farm that my Democratic electeds know my name and take me seriously when I reach out to them.

Now just imagine if we ALL did this.

There would be NO Joe Liebermans or Ben or Bill Nelsons hanging out to screw with us on important Democratic issues - we'd get a REAL Democrat in those seats instead.

And we'd stop losing seats we're supposed to win because the DCCC or DSCC has hand-picked a DLC Republican-lite candidate that no real Democrat wants to back instead of a REAL Democrat who has progressive views on important issues.

Next time the DNC, DSCC, or DCCC calls tell them NO - you're donating to X (the Democratic candidate YOU back) and will no longer be giving to them because they've screwed you on health insurance (or any number of other issues) and you gave to X because you want a candidate who is going to listen to YOU and it's time to cut out the middlemen and the corporations.

2. In this case NEVER is the correct answer.
When you give to a middleman, the candidate doesn't even know your name (or care) - all they care about is the big corporation that matched your donation.

5. Thank you for this information...The DNC just called me last night
I was leary (although I've already turned down the DSCC and the DCCC) and wouldn't give them anything over the phone so they said they put something in the mail..Now I will send them your posting instead of the money I agreed to.

7. Every time I get a call soliciting a donation for the DCCC or the DNC
the person on the other end gets an earful from me about why I will not give another damned dime to them as long as the Blue Dogs keep running the show.

Directly to candidates is my course, and will remain my course. Fuck the Blue Dogs and the DLC.

11. I stopped all donations to the DSCC and DCCC...
...in 2005 when I witnesses the DCCC using MY money against ME by steamrolling a grass roots AntiWar Progressive and inserting their OWN DLC/Corporate approved conservative in a local Primary election.

I stopped all donations to the DNC when they banished Dean and took credit for HIS work.

I Will be donating to WHOEVER Evan Bayh's Primary challenger is (Indiana).

And of course I will be donating to Joe Sestak in Pennsylvania who is challenging Republican Arlen Specter for the Democratic seat.

http://www.joesestak.com/Home/Home.html

YOU should donate to Sestak too,
because we already have enough Republicans in the Democratic Party!

The Democratic Party is a BIG TENT, but there is NO ROOM for those
who advance the agenda of THE RICH (Corporate Owners) at the EXPENSE of LABOR and the POOR.
