Then we can let Republicans take back control. It serves the Dems right for disappointing me.

It probably will be harder to live under GOP rule again, but I've got plenty of outrage to go around.

3. Snap out of it! We are at least holding on. The GOP will bury us!
Edited on Sat Jan-16-10 11:13 PM by The Wielding Truth
NO they will rob us, torture us, then work us to death, then give us to our families to bury. They have no need for government. They have broken it and made laws which have made it harder to fix. That is why things are so bad and hard to turn around. If you cannot hang in there for one term then I question your understanding of Bush's 8 year term.

4. That'll teach those dirty dems!
Besides, most of the carping "liberals" with Karl Marx avatars are comfortable enough that a Huckabee presidency won't hurt!

5. In a democracy, losing an election is the clearest signal a party can receive.
When all else has failed, either vote for the opponent(s), or don't vote at all.

The Democratic leadership will have no one to blame but their own corrupt, feckless selves.

14. And the signal clearly received is "become more like your competition"
Personally, I'm not willing to make even the dumbfucks adding the dead weight of their no doubt excessive meat to my party live through four to eight more years of republicans just because I'm miffed at the Democratic Party's leadership. Know why?

because I'm not a stupid asshole. That's just me, though, your mileage my vary.

You see, I know that if the Republicans get back in office, we're all fucked. You, me, the landscape, the constitution, probably four other countries, and, with the tastes of republicans at least five manatees, all getting it unlubed. Now maybe you're happy to take a hard assraping just to prove a point, but I'm not, and I'm sure not willing to make someone else do so. Especially since I know that the point will not only not be proven, but will actually be countered.

If you're upset at your Democrats, fine. Back primary challengers. Petition, write, march (for fuck's sake, learn how to protest!) scream obscenities in their faces, whatever you gotta do. But know this... Republicans winning isn't going to help us, and the only message that will be sent is that if the democrats were more like Republicans, they would get elected more.

16. I don't think the signal is be more like your competition
Keep your promises. Instead of talking about ethics, actually practice ethical behavior and don't treat your constituents like toddlers who must eat their Brussels sprouts because "they're good for you".

17. What you think is irrelevant in the face of what actually is
Politicians ALWAYS swing toward what is winning. It's simple, really, one side looks at hte other, goes "Whatever they're doing is making them win, so I'd better get me some of that"

I know it's more fun to think that the Democrats will pull their hair and go "Oh my gods, Abq_Sarah didn't vote for us, we MUST switch course!" but... they won't.

7. That's not what is happening and you know it
Democrats haven't been playing to their base since Lyndon Johnson went out of power and it shows rather badly.

In case you haven't figured that out either, the Democratic base is the center, not the "center" between their conservatives and ours.

Really, what is the mindset about some supposed Democrats/Progressives that they want things to fails since they didn't get their magic pony right away?

I wish things moved faster and were different as well, but the alternative?

Spare me.

If dems don't go to the polls then we deserve what we get.

10. Thing is that it's emtionally harder to take abuse from somone you care about..
Than it is from someone you dislike or even hate..

For me it's far less frustrating to have Republican screwing me over than Dems screwing me over..

If I can't depend on progressive purists during the bad times then they aren't good marriage material.

20. Let's dump the repukes AND the dems and START OVER with Independent
citizens and parties who aren't beholden to anyone! Let's kick the repubs and the dems to the curb and have some REAL CHOICE! Not these dog & pony shows/bait-n-switch deals like we have now with our two whores-to-the-highest-bidder "parties"
