Karen Hughes On MTP Makes It Look Like W Came To Obama To Help In Haiti.......
just the way she anwsered the question that was posed to her about W's participation in this Haiti fund - she made it sound like Bush wanted to do this before even Obama asked him. They are always trying to manipulate.

5. Hard to break that habit of lying for him.
My best memory of Hughes is when she was being questioned by the media in 2000. Gore's camp had received tapes of Bush's preparations for the debate, and instead of viewing them, they turned them over immediately to the FBI, who ran an investigation and found a patsy for it. Karen Hughes attacked Gore, trying to claim he had stolen the tapes somehow, and the media, for a rare change, wasn't buying it.

One reporter asked her if Bush's camp had sent the tapes to sabotage the debate, and Karen acted indignant. "Of course not," she said. "We had nothing to do with it." The reporter then asked if she would be willing to take a lie detector test.

She froze, her eyes widened, and you could see the fear for a moment as she tried to think of a way out of it, until you can clearly see she realizes she's on camera. She puts on her mask again, and says "Yes, of course we would."

That whole group was vile.

He may have had his people call Obama's people and offer. WhistleAss has not put on his superman boxer shorts for a whole year. He probably needs it.

19. Just thinking about who WhistleAss is.
The guy has lifelong history of getting off on other peoples pain - Likes it when living things suffer a lot before they die.

He also has a Messiah complex and loves to use daddy's money to swoop in and save the day. A bunch of poor little brown unfortunates suffering unto death, desperate for help is tailor made for WhistleAss to play dress up. Who called who first is up for grabs, but I have no doubt the little shit was fingering his pretend cape and boxers just aching to be involved.

20. That's a game both sides play.
He may not have, so everybody assumes Hughes is lying. Do you stick by "may does not count"?

The problem is how you make the inference. It's not uncommon for somebody to offer his services but not want to step on toes. Then the request is formally made with the response a foregone conclusion.

The alternative is to request a person's services and risk having the response be "no"--or have the response forced with no follow through. On the one hand, we'd revel in it--having * say no to Obama, thus revealing the inner nature we've always fervently believed he had. On the other hand, RWers would view *'s "no" response as the proper response to somebody who presumed to ask without checking--thus providing yet another example of rejecting somebody who's overreaching.

Personally, I don't know if * requested to particpate or was contacted to participate. I don't really doubt that his response was already known ahead of time and details already worked out. It's ultimately an uninteresting question.
