BOSTON, MA - Next Tuesday's Special Election for the U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts looks to be coming down to the wire. Surprising pundits in what had previously been thought to be a cakewalk for State Attorney General Martha Coakley, the Democratic candidate hoping to fill the seat of the late Senator Ted Kennedy, Republican state Senator Scott Brown has come on strong in the final days of the campaign.

4. If we're "lucky"
Actually I expect the current Tim Kaine/DLC weakened party to fight just as hard as the Terry McAuliffe/DLC weakened party did when Ohio was stolen in 2004. Or in other words, not at all. :evilfrown:

3. Didn't have to be this way
you can only steal an election if it's close.
Thanks to the constant repetition of republican memes here and elsewhere, one of the bluest states in the union is poised to elect a teabagging conservofuck because a bunch of crybabies didn't get their ponies soon enough. Thanks for that.

5. Way to scapegoat the voters
Edited on Sun Jan-17-10 01:50 PM by noise
If I recall correctly the voters gave the Democratic party control of Congress and the White House. Getting more Democrats into office wasn't the ends. The ends was getting the Democrats in office to represent the public and not special interests.

Blame the elected officials for the lack of voter enthusiasm. That is where it belongs.

6. I'm not scapegoating anyone
I'm pointing out that actions have consequences. Lack of support for your elected officials without regard to reality is about to pay off.

Yes, that works both ways.

7. +1.
The elected Democrats are to blame. For trying to be bipartisan and reach across the aisle. How many times do they need to stick their hands in the cage, only to have their fingers snapped at? Enough is enough.

The Democrats have coddled to the GOP for way too long, and now we're all paying the price for it. The Dems had it all...and they pissed it away, little by little. Now we have to stratch and claw our way back to the top.

What a waste.
