If you just watched Obama's speech in Mass...... |

Edited on Sun Jan-17-10 04:34 PM by nomaco-10
you might remember why you fell in live with him and chose him over hillary.
Does he disappoint me sometimes? Hell Yes! Does he also inspire me to hope for a better country? Hell Yes.
The juxtaposition of him and hillary along side george w goober brains and john mccain and the moron sarah palin stand out? YES!
He's the best pres in years. He has flaws, but I still stand with him.

19. Aww, he did great! Wish I had been able to see all of it. |
|
And, most important, looked as if he turned out a big crowd and they seemed very enthusiastic.

12. I agree President Obama is less embarrassing than Bush, but this is not why I voted for |
|
candidate Obama. I voted for Obama because he was significantly more aligned with me on various issues than the Republican candidate. If McCain was significantly more articulate than Obama, I still would have voted for Obama.

 Empty words with no follow up or worse = not a good reason to vote for someone or continue to support them.

Do I get disappointed with him sometimes? Oh yeah, but fundamentally, I want my President, and my country to succeed.

13. ABsolutely, I want both him and our nation to succeed. |
|
Which is why I will continue to speak up when I think he is shooting himself, and the nation, in the foot.

2. I never fell in love with him; it takes more than eloquent speeches or sermons to earn my support. The walk is more telling than the talk, and I don't "fall in love" with politicians of any stripe. 3. I didn't choose him over HRC. They were both dead last on my list of contenders in '08. Since all the acceptable candidates were gone after only 2 caucuses and 2 primaries, and I had another 5 months to wait until my turn to vote, I wanted to see a brokered convention where a better 3rd candidate might emerge. I voted for HRC in my primary because she was "behind," doing my part to even up the score before the convention. Not that it mattered, lol. 4. Has he disappointed me? No. I didn't expect anything better. He HAS pissed me off by, on some issues, being even worse than I thought he would be. 5. Has he ever inspired me? Not for an instant. I did shed a few tears along with Jesse Jackson on election night, rejoicing that a person of color could be elected to the highest office in the land, but those were because of the color of his skin, not the content of his character. 6. A cockroach looks good next to gwb and mccain/palin. That "juxtaposition" is relative. 7. There hasn't been a good president for most of my adult life, and I begin to think there won't be during my lifetime. I'll be 50 this spring. 8. Until he fires Arne Duncan and appoints a real educator, with authentic public ed reforms that actually support the system, I will NEVER stand with him. I could list the rest of the key issues that he's failed to earn my support for, but I'm a teacher. His privatization/union-busting agenda for public education is personal.

15. I am for Hillary and always will be BUT I as a good democrat |
|
will stand by Obama. You are correct he has flaws, he is human, but I think this man is really doing the best he can for this country. I think there is such a mess left by bush it is hard to try to figure out a way to correct each and every thing. But he and the democratic party will do it. They will get this country back on tract. President Clinton did after Reagan and George the first and Obama will clean up the mess this time.
