Brother-in-law just called from FL urging us to vote for Brown
and said the whole state of Florida is worried sick that the Healthcare bill will pass, whatever that's supposed to mean.

Good thing I wasn't home so I could hang up on him, or worse.

He lives in a government-subsidized housing unit, is on social security and has Medicare. WTF does he have to complain about anyway.............

1. Leave him a message saying that Brown wants to cut Medicare
He is against all "entitlements"

7. Next time you can tell him that he doesn't speak for all of Florida.
And remind him that Florida went for Obama in 2008.

Always votes Democrat. Would vote for Coakley if she still lived in Mass.

3. I laughed last night at our card club. The subject of health care came
up and I said they screwed up and should be voting on single payer instead of this. One of the older retired players spoke out and said, oh you don't want that, the government can't do anything right. I quickly replied, when will you be giving up social security and medicare? He suddenly had to leave the room to go to the bathroom.

6. Well you dumb brother-in-law doesn't speak for me.
I live in FL and know there are plenty of people down here who shiver at the thought that Brown will tip the balance of power.

8. Taking 500b from Medicare was probably not a good idea politically.
You can explain it til you are blue in the face but people will still be scared they will be screwed. I don't support this bill but if I did I would explain it only relates to the advantage program.

19. hey, watch it!
as to repugs and the dole . . . i belong to a non-political forum that has a poli side forum and 3 of the 6 repugs on it are ex-military. they don't get it. one of them is german and made a comment last week about how american soldiers gave them food and kept them alive when he was a kid in germany after ww2. so he's been on the public teat since he was a kid! he has not (yet?) responded to my comment . . . and i doubt he will. if rush didn't say it, it cannot be true.
