18. Yep.
What was that statement about being able to hold two conflicting ideas in the mind at the same time.

I see no problem with team USA, team Florida, team Colorado.

21. small things matter to small minds.
The ONLY important thing here is whether the teams are being effective, not what they are called.

7. Colorado too. I wonder
if it has to do with whether they are Federal or State units responding?

9. No, it's just facing south rather than north.
They likely did that to allow the earthquake fault line to be shown.

11. In that list of countries and states...
There is no mention of Israel and they sent teams of doctors (maybe not search and rescue). I was just wondering if there is a list of all countries who are lending a hand in any way. I was wondering if any Middle Eastern countries have sent any humanitarian aid. A lot of them can certainly afford it. (and please, I'm not saying they haven't I just haven't heard any countries from there mentioned). It's great to see countries like Iceland helping (as they have had a terrible economy recently and probably can't give monetarily but are helping with search and rescue teams) and places like China and Russia, who don't themselves have great reputations for being humanitarian. It is fantastic for all these countries to be lending a hand in however they can. Makes the world come together for a nice change. (unfortunate circumstances of course, but great to see EVERYONE assisting in something for the good)

i.e. Search and Rescue overlay.

It does not include doctors, food distributors, etc.

13. From that article...116 dead children pulled from the rubble of a school.
This just really gets to me having a 4 and 5 year old myself. Ugg.

15. I just feel helpless. My husband and I made a donation tonight for Haiti. It was the least we could
do. I was proud of him though, he is apolitical and rarely watches the news. But I told him some stories of some of the news I had been watching and it moved him to donate.

we cannot be there directly helping them so we do the next best thing - financially support those who can
