And I don't really know what this might do to the baby's citizenship. Guess: It does not affect the baby's citizenship. If a US coast guard ship picks up shipwreck victims, the victims don't get US citizenship. They get shipped back to their countries. But then, a baby born on US soil does get an option when they reach adulthood of choosing US citizenship, or that has been true throughout our history. I seem to recall something about the Bushwhacks changing that. Not sure.
