She only visits MA on vacation. Otherwise, she has nothing to do with the state. No investment in MA at all. She has FREE health care and has more money than most people I know.

My head is near exploding right now. I need a cave to crawl into for a few days.

15. What does that mean exactly?
No residency requirement? Does that mean Glenn BecKKK or the Dick Arm(e)y or Karl Rove could bus in a bunch of out of state teabaggers tomorrow, and they would be able to vote?

3. How can she Vote in MA
In my state, VA your primary residence has to be in VA to vote. I think the only exceptions are colege students and military. I know states have difference rules, but that is kind of odd.

4. Does she vote for the Cons in Canada? My bet is yes
Edited on Mon Jan-18-10 12:07 PM by Spazito
If so, sadly, it would figure she would vote for Brown.

Edited to correct typo, damn, need more coffee.

7. Yep
For a girl who befriended gays in high school back in the 70's, she now joins in on witch hunts to get gay people fired from their teaching jobs.

This is why I hide from family.

11. Oh boy, I feel for you...
Those who support the neocons here just LOVE bush and all he "stood" for. It is positively pukeworthy.

8. Not necessarily...
A poll going into the 2008 U.S. election showed Canadians favouring Obama over McCain 58 - 17. Furthermore, although Harper, many of his ministers, and many members of his inner-circle are wing-nuts, his public persona is not that of a wing-nut, and outside of a few leftist and LGBT-oriented publications, the media pays little attention to this fact. Fuck, I'm like the only person who knows that he wrote an essay for the Christian Coalition of Canada.

10. That's good to hear
But still, my family disappoints me every day with their unbalanced emotional responses to important issues.

12. Anyone who votes for Brown could only be a Harper/Bush supporter, imo
no one who votes Liberal, NDP or even Bloc would cast a vote for Brown, would NOT happen, imo.

18. Your step-dad must be from when the Conservative party was real...
Edited on Mon Jan-18-10 01:47 PM by Spazito
a Joe Clark conservative and not a CRAP one!

Edited to add: I still hold a great deal of respect for Joe Clark, he is an honest man with dignity, a far cry from the poseurs we now have pretending to be conservatives.

14. How convenient. . .
so when this country becomes worse and worse because of people she's voting for like Brown, she can always retreat to Canada.

Wish I had dual citizenship!

16. I'm dual in Canada and Colorado
The rule in Colorado is that if it was your last in-US residence, you can vote there as an ex-pat. Rest assured that I and my whole voting family (that's 4 votes) consider the issues there and vote appropriately... bearing in mind what the Republican party has done to the US over the past several decades.

19. That's true. I have friends who continue to vote here.
Thankfully, they aren't repukes, but then, I don't think most folks who are attracted to Canada from the U.S. are. Everyone I know there is a democrat.

20. Ask her if she supports rapists.
Because Brown smiled and nodded at the 'she needs to be raped with a curling iron' comment.
