NPR story, how sports/talk radio has been 100% supportive of brown in massachusetts
they played about a dozen clips of talk radio, mostly sports shows, that were telling viewers to vote for brown, they called it free advertising...

doesn't seem quite fair, does it?

no link, heard it on the radio

3. +1 the guys on sports radio generally are less than thrilled with women in power
unless it's a certain babbling fool from the far up north.

9. And they can't post on the local web forums?
LTTE? Call in on radio shows?? Put up posters?

What are they waiting for? Are they waiting for another Bush/Cheney type in the Senate or White House??

4 hours of pro-Brown talk on tap. All the usual bullshit, including "This is not JFK's party", "Scott's a good regular guy", "What a wonderful family". One of the guys even said "I don't agree with Hillary Clinton, but at least I know she is smarter than Martha Coakley".

20. I stopped listening to WEEI awhile ago due to the politics
D and C in the morning are just horrible shills repeating whatever right wing talking points they can get their hands on.

Dale and Holley aren't that bad. I think Holley is a dem and I think Dale is a Libertarian

Tuned off the Big Show a long time ago. Deossie and Smerlas and Shepard uggh

I listen to 98.5 and it seems that the only rightie over there is Zolak, and Tanguay does his best to keep him in check.

I decided not to listen to any Boston sports radio this week due the horrible Pats performance last week. Not in the mood to hear Felger ballwashing the JETS or his favorite receiver Reevis while shitting on Moss for 4 hours

Oh Yea..thank god for the internet so that a transplanted northerner like myself can listen to his favorite hometown sports station down here in NC

11. what was the topic?
Nothing to do with sexism. Had to do with someone not knowing about a states pride & joy sports team. Nothing unites a city/state than sports!

15. You heard right
Most of the dudes on the local radio sports talk shows are right-wingers; unabashed ones at that. Heck, you should have heard how they ridiculed Obama and Hillary when they were running for President. Of course, their guy in the race was McCain because, you know, he's a stand-up type of guy who's tough on the terrorists.

22. I think there's an amendment about that.
Kind of worries me when people suggest that regulating political speech is a good idea.

(I suppose I should clarify that I mean political speech that isn't paid for. I know there are all sorts of laws for messages with money behind them. I just don't like the notion of the government telling people what they can and can't say in public. Not a good road to travel down, IMHO.)

21. WEEI's morning show, and much of it's programming, has been right-wing for years
It's no more a factor in this race than it has been in any other.
