The people do not want war, just the politicians and corporations.

It is time for them to catch up with the rest of humanity.

When we turn our resources currently being used for war toward people in need in this country, new technologies for a clean environment etc. just imagine what could be accomplished.

Many people think the focus should be on global warming, not war, but they do not consider just how much our wars are fucking up the environment. I wonder how much CO2 is released every time they drop a bomb? The amount of oil they are using on a daily basis is outrageous, and the depleted uranium all over the ground, in dust then spread across the globe...

22. I took a 1 credit zombie class in school and we had to write little 1 page papers comparing
specific zombie movies, such as Dawn of the Dead and Fido, with certain people's writings, such as Freud and Marx.

In one of my papers I argued zombies ate people for sexual reasons instead of nutritional reasons. The paper was fun to write.

I have faith in humanity. I think when we have wealth, technology and science for the most part we use it to help ourselves and each other.

That or dramatically increase our baseline of empathy, and make it harder to shut empathy off.

31. Yeah it is a nice thought.
It's good to have a dream. I wish everyone had a renewable energy source that gave them independence from those who control oil and gas and heat and electricity. Without a need for oil we don't need a military all over the world protecting our access to energy. We could stop playing "the great game" and attend to our needs at home. Peace through economic security.

32. Make the female menstrual cycle a biannual event.
Alter the human genome so that human females only get one opportunity to conceive every two years. It would still permit humans to have a sustainable number of children, but severely slashes runaway population growth. It would almost eliminate teen pregnancy as well.

I doubt the ladies would mind much.

45. Not possible without eliminating sex entirely.
It may be "unfair" to target only women in this, but biological reality has granted men and women vastly different reproductive systems. Most importantly here are the base states for each of our systems. The male reproductive system is "always on". It is constantly producing reproductive material from puberty through its very elderly years. Changing that system to only work at certain times would require a vast re-engineering of the male reproductive system. You would essentially have to shut down the male testes, which would eliminate the male ability to have sex entirely (no testes means no sex drive or erections). While there are probably a minority who like that idea, I suspect that the overwhelming majority would react violently if informed that they only get to have sex once every two years.

In contrast, the native state of the female reproductive system is "off". Ovaries are not constantly releasing eggs, but instead are dormant for all but 5% of their overall existence, cycling briefly on a quasi-monthly basis to release a single egg. This system can be modified by only minimally changing the timing of those cycles. It can be kept in its natural state, with only the frequency of its activations being modified. More importantly, as decades of birth control usage has demonstrated, altering these cycles has little to no impact on a womans ability or desire to engage in recreational sex with a partner. Only reproductive capacity is altered.

The female body houses the tools required for the continuation of the species, so that's where the modification would need to take place. It may seem unfair to target one sex, but in this case it's simply a factor of human physiology.

To allow for an 'on' w/ minimal medical care.

It is certainly easier than messing w/ the female reproductive cycle.

The male reproductive system is simple

The female reproductive system is amazingly complex.
