The gaping hole in our democracy is killing our nation. |
|
The utter inability for the people to initiate criminal prosecution against our nation's highest ranking officials is that gaping hole.
We the people have no power to initiate criminal prosecution.
If Barack Obama is going to cover up some of the worst crimes in American history, the Bush era crimes, then Obama IS committing impeachable offenses.
We were powerless as we watched the TYRANNY of Bushco happen in front of our fucking eyes. Many protested, many voices were heard and yet the people were utterly powerless as we watched the criminality of Bush unfold.
Other than protest, other than voting in a corrupt system that we like to call democracy, we are utterly powerless to hold our government accountable when our leaders break the law.
The result- A government of corporate fascist warpigs that violate Federal and International law at will. Presidents violate the law so flagrantly that our noses get rubbed in it.
The people remain powerless in the face of this never ending tyranny.
Until this gaping hole in our laws is changed, until the people have the power to arrest and indict our criminal overlords, it'll never end.
The middle class will continue its path to extinction.
The poor will forever fight their wars.
Our warpig overlords will forever continue their agenda of murder and destruction.
The continued and willful cover-up of Bush era crimes is rising to the level of impeachable offenses. Obama still has a chance to undo/reverse these illegal and dreadful policies/choices of stonewalling an investigation into Bushco.
Imagine if Bushco were facing an international warcrimes tribunal before the Hague. How would that change Obama's current agenda? MASSIVELY.
As long as government remains above the law, America will continue its freefall of the cliff we're falling from.
Things that fall off cliffs eventually go
SPLAT.

5. The People do "have the power to arrest and indict our criminal overlords" |
|
It just doesn't happen to be legal. It may however one day become necessary.
I believe that ALL war criminals should face their day in court. I don't care what letter they tack on to their name.

If the President does it, it's not illegal.
America is now a totalitarian fascist state.
Technically speaking. It's still hard for most of us to realize this. Or even accept the possibility.
Our Overlords have been covering all their bases for the last thirty years.
The only avenue left that offers any hope at all is the internets. So continue to enjoy net neutrality while it lasts. It is gone for certain because net neutrality makes things a little too POPULIST for the Overlords to tolerate.

12. Obama asking Clinton and Bush to head up the humanitarian task force |
|
Edited on Tue Jan-19-10 08:01 AM by lunatica
is a de-facto Presidential pre-pardon of a non-investigation that will never happen. A President doesn't give a war criminal such prestige and honor if there is ever going to be something that will smear that President in any way.
Bush, as Clinton, will go down in history as a great humanitarian. We're witnessing the re-writing of history.
But as in all politics, the President will get something in return though we'll have to watch very carefully to see evidence of it. It won't be obvious. And there is always the off chance that it might be something good for the country.
Accepting the fact that politics is politics and applying it to all politics is a pretty good approach because it helps take all that emotional illusion and idealism out of the picture.
