Just spent four hours phonebanking for Coakley... |
|
Probably made 100+ calls. Only had one Democrat say he was voting for Brown. He probably knew I was dumbfounded.
"So lemme get this straight. You voted for Barack Obama...Now you're voting for Scott Brown?"
"Yeah."
o_O
Had a few calls where multiple family members were voting for Coakley. Overall, it went pretty well. Hopefully it was the same way all over the country.

I think the media is trying to force a Coakley loss; stories like yours are encouraging.
Thanks for phone banking and lets hope Dems do what they need to tomorrow! :hi:

10. When phonebanking the night before an election, you only call likely supporters. |

To remind them to come out and vote.
For those who might not support your candidate? Well, maybe they'll forget to vote.

11. That's not really surprising but the fact that you were calling the base tells me the Coakley campai |
|
gn didn't have a plan and doesn't know what it's doing.
It should have locked down the base long ago and been ID'ing independents to vote for her and your calls SHOULD have been GOTV calls to turn out BOTH Dems AND independents to go vote tomorrow. If all she's turning out are Dems then we definitely lose.

14. It was through Organizing for America. |
|
The local leader said the lists were all Obama voters, and there were a handful of people with no party affiliation. Like I said though, I only had the one guy say he was voting for Brown. So I don't know how many independents answered the phone, but the ones who did were for Coakley.

18. I phonebanked today, too |
|
The list Organizing for America gave me consisted mostly of elderly voters, split about 50-50 as coming from either Boston or Norwood (which happens to be my former neck of the woods; I made these calls from California) As a result, I caught most of them at home, with no caller ID or voicemails. Only one of these calls was an "undecided" voter, and she was annoyed that she had been receiving so many calls. The rest of the folks were supporting Coakley. Some needed a ride to the polls; one didn't appreciate the 800 number I gave her. Another wanted ME to take her to the polls.
