Anyone who thinks CNN is just as bad as Faux should turn on their TV and watch the second hour.

For anyone who can't watch the fund raiser, details on how to help are on his site: http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/larry.king.live/

On edit: He also just said they'll continue with the fund raiser on AC360.

1. As long as Blitzer is nowhere near it!
I'm watching and it's amazing to see the outpouring. I just ponied up another $100 - didn't get to talk to a celebrity though!

3. January 22 - I've got another $100 for that one too
My wife and I have set aside $1000 to give, but we've already sent $800 out to Doctors without Borders and Partners in Health. Was thinking about cashing in a CD or cashing some stock out to give.

4. Amen to the Blitzer comment
That's a very generous donation, I wish I could afford to give $100.

6. Don't worry about $$$ amounts
Edited on Mon Jan-18-10 09:27 PM by TornadoTN
These aid organizations have infrastructure and contacts in place that can stretch $1 into $10. That $1 could mean the difference between basic supplies getting there or being stuck stateside or in a warehouse.

Every single dollar counts and will go a long way. We each give what we can and that's all that matters.

9. I live abroad and don't have any cards
Edited on Mon Jan-18-10 09:53 PM by Turborama
I emigrated to Indonesia 4 years ago to work as a volunteer so I can't donate online or by phone and I'm trying to find an alternative way of giving. Doctors without Borders have some good ideas on http://doctorswithoutborders.org/donate/fundraiser/">how to organize a fundraiser so I'm going to do that. I saw someone posted the other day about $30 buys a tent for them but I can't find the thread.

10. Bravo for you!
That fundraiser that you are putting together is something that many of us wish we could do and have the time for!

One thing that you might be able to do is send an e-mail to Doctors Without Borders and see if they can point you in the right direction since you are abroad. They probably have assets fairly close to you right now that could assist.
