People are not that stupid. They know he is not a "Kennedy." He is just a kennedy of which there are many in the Bay State.

2. More than we'd like to think |
|
I've told this story before but..
Several years ago there was a real nut case who challenged the Republican's endorsed candidate for Attorney General. Her name was Sharon Anderson. She didn't run much of a campaign and any thing she did say was totally off the wall (this was before the Republicans had gone completely insane so no one, including the media, paid much attention to her).
At the same time there was a popular local TV celebrity also named Sharon Anderson. Now, primary elections in Minnesota have terrible turn out, as a rule it's pretty much the party faithful who show up - but guess who won that primary (hint: it was not the endorsed candidate).
Actually in Minnesota anyone who has a name that ends in "-son" still has some advantage. Which is why the Republican candidate for auditor a couple cycles ago was Pat ANDERSON Awada and this year one of the DFL candidates for governor is Margaret ANDERSON Kelliher.
Even Martin Sabo who was the Congressman whose district included all of Minneapolis (Keith Ellison has the seat now) ran as Martin OLAF Sabo... even though when he was in the state legislature he was just plain Martin Sabo.

He shows up at like 2% in polls. People in Mass. are fairly smart.

4. The "none of the above" candidate normally gets |

from 3 to 5 percent of the ballot. If it's anything above that in this race, it proves that MA voters are just not paying attention.
I'll be watching that percentage, no matter how the rest of the election turns out. I strongly suspect that this faux Kennedy will get between 7 and 10 percent of the vote, but I sincerely hope I'm dead wrong.
