7. Send it to Phoenix. We're so dry here it's ridiculous. We were 5+ inches below last year and we're |
|
down over an inch right now. We need some serious moisture. Of course when it does come, the ground will be so dry that it will just roll off and flood.
Need a Nice soaking rain.
Enjoy!

4. I'm enjoying the thunder... |
|
I miss the thunder from my childhood days in the mid-west.
We don't get much in Los Angeles that often.
The swimming pool is officially about 1/4 of and inch from over flowing though. Praying that the drain pump doesn't give out... :hide:

6. I'm working @ the airport, SFO.... |
|
We're catching a break right now, before the skies open up again, but the flights are mega-delayed for anyone who's flying out today. But even with that, I think it's worse for SoCal, with the mudslides and all. Take care down there, you guys!

This is the only GD thread I've seen about today's storm. Peggy shared a radar link, other than that, I've seen no others. BHN

12. We are in a brief respite where I live on the northern end of the Central Cost |
|
The next wave and the worst of it is supposed to hit tomorrow. We just bought a generator that is getting delivered tomorrow. Hope it gets in before the storm hits. Lost power for a little bit yesterday, but if tomorrow is what the forecasters are saying it will be like, I expect it will come in handy. Stay safe.

19. Raining outside my window. |
|
Dog won't go out in the rain, doesn't like wet feet. But VanDam peak looks hazy beautiful, wreathed in cloud and rain. And the tip tap on the roof sounds like God's back fence gossip.

21. Yup, pouring cats and dogs here, and quite windy. |
|
I'm practically sitting on the Tijuana border -- personally snug and dry with my 4 feline lap furs and a new pot of homemade soup, but thinking of those who aren't so lucky.
Anyone who absolutely must go out in this, drive carefully. Keep safe, fellow DUers.

YOU ARE in an area that does get flooded. Talking on the general of the Tijuana River Valley
If you are told to leave... don't think twice. Water goes up FAST and HARD.

I'm on stable, fairly high ground for the general area, in a location where drainage has been improved and is actually quite good at this point, so I'm not really worried.
However, I do believe in following evacuation orders and always keep a bag of essentials ready to go. (My son's a CERT instructor, so I really don't have a choice. :D ).
You keep safe, dry, and warm, too!

right across where you are
:-) On the other side of the border.
I am in an area that floods, but if the water even gets close to the actual building we are having serious problems.

That's a dangerous and difficult job you were doing. Like where you are, if water gets too close to my location it means the whole area is having very serious problems.
I'm keeping an eye on the outside and there's been no accumulation at all, so the drainage engineers seem to have done a very good job. I really think it's going to be okay, but as with everything, only time will tell for sure.
