Mass. Residents already Have Mitt Care...They are Angry about Wall St. Bailouts! |
|
Just like the rest of America they are Angry about the Bailouts. Not one of these MSM Pundits will mention the "Bailouts" in the polling and how angry folks are to have lost their Investments they were pushed into by "401-K and IRA" required contributions. Plus the SAVERS who are MAKING NOTHING in their "Safe Investments" who are older and are worried about everything and ANGRY.
These Media Pudits are focused on HCR and what the election in Massachusetts means for it...when it's more about Anger over Job Losses and Wall St.
They won't TOUCH THAT ONE. They want to make it about Obama Failure rather than the REAL ISSUES that have ALL OF US ANGRY..including those of us in states that jobs have flown, we see the bailouts for the Top 1% and to top all that our Health Care isn't even up to the Mitt Romney Standard for Massachusetts Residents.
The "MSM" is simplifying this to be about Obama's botched HCR in the Mass. Vote...it's ANGRY VOTERS...and WHY ARE THEY ANGRY....They don't want to talk about the Whole Magilla because they are all working for the Corporatists like Murdoch, GE and the rest who want the WHOLE SYSTEM TO GO DOWN! Then, THEY GET IT ALL!

2. the anti-corporate message of the Democratic presidential primaries has not seen a followthrough |
|
Edited on Tue Jan-19-10 06:52 PM by jsamuel
now the corporations themselves (Republicans) are using anti-corporate rhetoric to push Republicans into office who will support the corporations

5. Coakley's campaign focussed on Wall St and went nowhere |
|
her media strategy of talking about the "big banks" was a joke.

10. Never saw a peep here on DU about her "going after Big Banksters." |

Edited on Tue Jan-19-10 07:03 PM by KoKo
I wish I had. Never saw a big effort here on DU about Brown's "Big Balled Spread" where he showed is stuff in a major magazine years ago...either. Jon Stewart had the "FULL VIEW" on his show last night...posted here on DU!
I guess he's DA'MAN! He could do a Viagra Commercial...Isn't that what's it's all about these days?

11. If you'd lived in MA you'd know her campaign focussed on "cleaning up Wall Street" |
|
which is very odd message. She really should have distilled and simplified the message and presented herself an an heir to Kennedy's liberalism. Instead she ran as a presecutor. Weird.

12. It's not that people don't care about this issue |
|
It's just that as a focus of campaign (and bizarrely it was her focus) it doesn't motivate people.
All she had to do was tell people that she's liberal who will walk in the footsteps of EMK. Instead she chose to portary herself as a crime fighter. Crazy stuff.

14. What you are really saying is that Mass Dems don't care about Wall St. want Populist Message and |
|
she failed on that.
So...you are saying Mass. Voters didn't lose any money in the Great Crash/Bailout and even though they already have Mitt Care (which according to Jon Stewart is better than our US Senate is giving us in this bill) that all they wanted to hear was that "she cared" and that she would have stood outside Red Sox Stadium shaking hands with voters but "it was just to cold" to do that (again, according to Jon Stewart) WHAT? :eyes:

15. Cali...What did Brown offer in the way of JOBS if that was the main issue with Mass Voters? |
|
Edited on Tue Jan-19-10 07:26 PM by KoKo
what were the ads that he did that made that the most important issue? Not living there...I wouldn't know what the ads said.

Instead of everybody here telling us what we're thinking - why don't you freakin' ask us?
Because the fact is, the reason this election is at risk is many-fold and every time one of us who actually lives here tries to talk about it, someone from out of state comes along and tells us how it really is.
The fact is no one I know who calls themselves a Democrat ever thought for one second of voting for Brown. They thought for a second or two of not voting but only because we got lazy and, just like the rest of the Democratic Party, thought it was a given.
Now, the people I know who are probably going to vote for Brown are Republicans, and some Indies, who have bought his little horse and pony show. They're pissed off about the bailouts, the lack of jobs, the direction the HRC bill has taken and Brown promoted himself as a moderate. They've been lied to and yes, they bought it.
But there are a LOT of people here who wanted an end to the wars - not an escalation. We wanted Gitmo shut down. We wanted help for people who are losing their homes. We wanted someone to champion the little guy. We wanted Ted Kennedy.
And the fact is, the Coakley campaign did nothing to make these people feel heard.
Every Democrat I know is out there voting today because we know how important this election is. They're bringing people to polling stations. They're writing their friends and talking to their neighbors. And I'm really glad they don't belong to this web site because of how DUers have talked about them.

17. You dare to speak the truth, but you are right. |
|
The Bailouts have such a sizable hunk of the working class, the middle class in red hot anger. They are barely holding on to their jobs, if they haven't lost them, they see their home values crashing, they were ripped off in their 401K's and they are pissed.
Obama should have immediately pushed to put all the regulations back that were removed since FDR, but he didn't. He should have made creating "new" jobs his top priority, it wasn't. And he should have told the banks, either you loan the money we gave you to people or the Government will loan them the money at 3%. He did none of that.
He took care of fat cats and Americans know it. His Presidency is in trouble...and then, of course, he's fibbed so cavalierly that it's hard to build that trust back.
What is sad is that voters might take it out on Coakely.
