The Martha Coakley campaign just sent out a media advisory, announcing a press conference at 5:30 p.m. ET, alleging irregularities in the special Senate election.

The press conference will involve reports of voters who received ballots that were already marked for Republican candidate Scott Brown.

BOSTON (FOX 25, myfoxboston) - The Coakley Campaign Manager and Attorney have come forward at the peak of the election to discuss reports of pre-marked ballots.

Campaign Manager Kevin Conroy and Attorney Marc Elias held a press conference at the Sheraton Grand Ballroom discussing these reports. They stated that the ballots are threatening the integrity of the election.

The pre-marked ballots were handed out with Scott Brown’s name already checked off.

At least two incidents have been reported in Brighton and Cambridge.

Ballot Tampering Questioned In Senate Race

http://www.thebostonchannel.com/news/22276719/detail.html

BOSTON -- Democrat Martha Coakley's campaign raised issues of ballot tampering in at least three jurisdictions and urged Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin to further look into the matter as millions of Bay State residents went to the polls to elect a successor to Sen. Edward Kennedy.

Attorney Mark Elias said the campaign received reports of ballots being given to voters pre-marked for Coakley's opponent Republican Scott Brown.

"We have received reports of five ballots -- spanning three jurisdictions," Elias said.

Elias said the voters caught the errors and brought the ballots to back to the poll workers.

"This is obviously a serious violation, and our legal team is taking immediate steps to protect the integrity of this election," campaign manager Kevin Conroy said. "We do not yet know why this is happening, but you and everyone you know needs to be aware of the situation so that you can carefully inspect your ballot."

8. I smell lawsuits because of voter fraud
Brown stuffed the ballot box, and its time for lawsuits to stop the republican party from illegally rigging the election.

14. Coakley has Franken's lawyer working for her.
Edited on Tue Jan-19-10 07:04 PM by KittyWampus
Worth noting: One of the Coakley attorneys at the presser was Marc Elias, counsel for Sen. Al Franken during the protracted Minnesota election contest last year.

16. Brown lawyer issues non denial denial
I hate linking to Politico, but here is a snip:

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0110/Coakley_campaign_casts_doubt_on_election_integrity.html?showall

UPDATE: Brown lawyer David Winslow responds with his own tendentious charge:

Reports that the Coakley campaign is making reckless accusations regarding the integrity of today’s election is a reminder that they are a desperate campaign. In fact, news reports point out that today’s accusation was a pre-dated, in the bag political attack. Furthermore, Senator John Kerry accused Brown supporters of intimidation and bullying -- a tactic taken directly from his own 2004 playbook. The reality is that Massachusetts voters will determine the outcome of this election despite political attacks leveled by Martha Coakley and national Democrats.

(end snip)

So, Brown is saying that the charges are unfounded because the press release has the wrong date on it and John Kerry is a meany. Pfffft.
