Trying to find insurance.

7. They already lost.
If the Democrats can't get regulate the most unpopular industry in America with an 18-vote majority, they should just resign and give someone else a chance.

24. Bullshit.
I call bullshit.

If this healthcare bill doesn't pass because of this election tonight, then

well, I won't get into it, but the misery my family will be facing is on the shoulders of every coward that voted across the aisle to "send a message to obama".

Those that did can friggin' bite the bag.

27. You do realize they're considering dropping the pre-existing condition changes
And even if it passes, the "reforms" won't kick in for 4 years.

Meanwhile, the Medicare cuts and new taxes health care kick in immediately.

28. I'll take "4 years from now" versus "never"
Edited on Tue Jan-19-10 09:10 PM by BeatleBoot
By the way, it's amazing you know what's in the final bill when the it hasn't even been sent to the president yet.

Look, I'm not a cry baby. I don't need immediate satisfaction.

I think the pre-existing condition will be immediate - and even if it isn't - who gives a rat's ass?

It's a step forward.

Chances are it ain't going to happen AT ALL NOW if we lose Mass.

But at least the selfish sent a message.

32. Or, the Dems will wake up and pass a better bill through reconciliation
Seriously, how can you possibly blame "selfish" MA voters when the Dems can't do shit with huge majorities in both houses?

34. I'm okay with recon

And I'll even take back the "selfish" label.

If there were Democrats crossing the aisle to "send a message to Obama and the DLC"they aren't selfish - just dumb asses.

By the way, have you noticed all the newbies tonight from Freeper land. They dig this Dem civil war shit, don't they?

35. It's not a civil war. It's growing pains.
I think this whole thing could end up helping the Dems long-term. If they finally realize that they can't win by kissing Repuke ass, this loss will be forgotten pretty quickly.

41. I could agree...but...
what if it was planned? How could some guy who spreads himself most naked in a magazine win this election? A guy who has nothing going for him against a Dem candidate with nothing going for her.

It's almost too perfect....in a way, if one thinks about it.

45,000 die a year without health care.
Big bankers continue to act as predators.
Global warming continues to be treated as a myth.

12. You need to start concentrating on the god damn Republicans.....
cause part of the problem is while you're attacking Democrats,
they are attacking Democrats.

Seems like y'all have the exact same job,
or better yet, seems like you do their job for them.

Thanks for nothing....cause in the end, that's what we'll have,
or maybe back to 2001.

Pass strong health care reform with a real public option and the Republicans will be out of power for the next 20 years.

31. It'll NEVER happen.
The point is not so much to win elections as it is to have the right sort of people in charge. It's all a big club, as Carlin said, and guys like Howard Dean aren't in it. Not. In. It. And neither are we. Republicans want power so they can make their rich friends even richer. Democrats don't want power and don't know what to do with it when it's handed to them. None of the current crop of politicians, of either party, seems to have any talent for or interest in actual governing.
