They'll either say that Coakley is a "centrist" and that's who the voters want (if she wins) or that she was "too liberal" and say that voters want "centrist" (right-wing) candidates if she loses.

3. So is Evan "my wife is an insurance whore" Bayh.
Clearly the DLC has already put out the talking points. I expect Harold Ford will be on TV talking the same shit within minutes. It's one occasion that I'm actually happy I don't have cable TV anymore.

7. It can't be that Coakley ran a crappy campaign.
From 30 points up to where she is now (not going to call the race just yet since I have no way to know), yeah, sure, it was all about the liberal Democrats in Congress... NOT.

13. IMHO, proof this was orchestrated to be a loss. The DLC takeover is complete.
Hell, even Obama called Single Payer "too radical".

WTF???

*sigh*

5. How else do you read it?
Teddy's seat becomes a Republican Conservative seat held by a man who opposes everything Teddy ever stood for. Seems to me, all the voters of Mass. said, stop this train and progress to the far right. Give us big banks. Send the poor to die without health care. Global warming is a myth and nothing needs done.

That is the message, and liberal/progressive Massachusetts sends it with love if Coakley wins.

6. Lieberman, Evan Bayh, and Chris Matthews have all said the same
thing tonight already. Obama went too far left. Coakley was too far left. Ya think it might be someone's talking point or something.

8. And the flips side is true, too.

The far left will say she was backed by the DLC (if she wins) or that she is the victim of Obama not being far left enough.

Wow! Spin in politics?

Imagine that!

12. It's a far more logical argument, especially considering whose seat it is.
This is a LIBERAL Senate seat. Teddy was there 46 years, his brother Jack before him. Over half a century of LIBERAL Democratic representation in the senate. The seat would be taking a hard right turn with either candidate, unfortunately.

The DLC is like an infected appendix. It has to go, or we will die from the infection.
