1. Overlords? People chose them in a democratic vote or by not voting |
|
either way the won fair and square because more people voted for them then the alternative

4. "Voting" and democratic rule have little in common. So what? Hitler was voted into power. |
|
That's precisely why Plato believed democracy would lead to despotism. Whoever is more "persuasive" wins, regardless of where true interest lies.

2. Ack. Two Lucies holding the football. I've grown to hate them and their "moderate" shtick. |

5. Snowe I almost vaguely like. Collins is just a massive prick. |
|
Faux-moderates, both of them, Collins just a little more sickeningly faux than Snowe. Unfortunately, I think they'll die before being voted out, due to the pathetic wishy-washy faux-moderate electorate in Maine.

10. Actually yes I am now, and registered in ME although I am not currently there. |
|
Maine this past November was a travesty, but I can't help but be positive in the end because it was nothing at all like CA--nothing at all permanent in it. It took ME 3 tries to get sexual orientation as a protected class past a people's veto, and I'll wait and vote each time until SSM sticks as well.
MA is just an epic fail on Coakley's part. Terrible, terrible campaign.
:toast: to voting, nonetheless. :)

11. When I left for school, I always kept my voting status in the Pine Tree State |

Real 1776 Democracy still exists here (and this is something you will come to appreciate).
