Poll question: Post-MA Senate race, what about health care?
What's the best option going forward?

1. I honestly don't know. As of now the poll is 4-3. I believe that the House and Senate will be split

like that too within their bodies, so I don't think there is any way the Dems would have the discipline to stick together and vote it through the House.
On the one hand I want the Dems in the House to stick together, vote it through and let Obama sign it. But intellectually I know thats mainly because I don't want the Reps to crow over killing the bill.
But if they don't do that and start over, how will anything pass. Not one Rep in the Senate will vote for anything the Dems come up with. So then Obama has totally lost.
I'm just sick, sick, sick.

Edit, its now 6-6 in the poll.

2. Best option?
Put a bill on the table that has everything for everybody except the rich and the insurance industry and force the GOPukes to filibuster it to death.

Then go before the public next election and point out how the GOPukes killed their grandmother.

4. My personal take is send what they have now to Obama
I think the House should just pass it on and move on.

And not because I love the Senate version. Single payer is the best option, but no one would even let that be scored by the CBO.

It's completely crazy that we spend two or three times per capita as much as any other industrialized nation for healthcare. We're two slots above Cuba in world rankings of healthcare, and they spend $250 per capita. We spend around $7000 per capita. This is insane.

5. Damn! Somebody should put you in charge of something.
That would work! And it doesn't require a masters degree to understand it.

11. Sounds good to me
They'll huff and puff, but I bet they won't want to put all their precious time into a filibuster.

And edited to say this:

Unrecommended? A poll?

Are people saying they think we shouldn't discuss what happens next with health care? What a strange thread to unrecommend! And that's not saying I think people should recommend this particular thread.

9. Who is crazy enough to believe we'll ever get anything if HRC fails?
Forget redoing it. We'll be up against many more Republicans down the line.

Think of others who will benefit, many poor and un and underinsured.
