Just Shut Up! - josh marshall |
|
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2010/01/just_shut_up.php?ref=fpaMessage of the day to all Dems, Coakley, Rahm, Celinda Lake, national Dem committees, Axelrod, whoever, whatever: Shut the *$%& Up! I don't know how else to say it. I'm watching MSNBC and hearing all the key players dumping on each other. As I've said, the Coakley campaign seems to have been run just terribly. And that's just the beginning of it. But really, with all that's at stake, the White House political office left this to Coakley, unsupervised? Really? I just have very little patience hearing all the people who are by definition all to blame have an argument about who's most to blame. a bit more at the link.

3. A Nasty Little Pattern Here... |
|
Deeds, Corzine and now Coakley...and an almost invisible DNC. The 50-state strategy has been forgotten. Let's put this in a little perspective...the Democrats still have 55 reliable Senate seats...the same number boooosh did at the peak of his power. The "super-majority" was a farce from the outset as Lieberman was counted in that group and so were blue dogs like Nelson and Lincoln. People are frustrated at many things and its manifesting in different ways with different people. Times are tough and incumbents have to work twice as hard to keep their seats, newcommers like Coakley have to work four times as hard to gain voter confidence and then win on her own merits. She failed big time.
But if the rushpublicans think this is the beginning of the end, they better watch their own behinds. They have 7 open Senate seats this year...more than Democrats and their approval ratings are worse than Democrats. The only people who can beat Democrats are themselves...and we saw it in action tonight. The Administration better see this quickly or this nasty pattern will continue.
