The best tactic for Dems in the Senate now... Force filibusters

Put the bills on the table, and force the Republicans to filibuster them.


Put them on the spot... and if the filibusters are successful, advertise the hell out of the fact that the reason something didn't pass was because of the filibusters.


When Newt threatened to shut the government down in '95... Clinton called his bluff. And the American people rewarded Clinton in '96.


So... Harry Reid - you're going to lose your Nevada seat in November anyway - so call their bluffs. Put the legislation out there, no matter the subject, and FORCE the fuckers to filibuster it.


Then use it against them if they do.


Since you don't have the balls to use reconciliation.... then put the fuckers on the record.

don't let them get by with just announcing they don't like the bill and are calling "filibuster".

And, if they do that, it will get a good many of the Blue Dogs out of the way. Let's not pretend the Republicans are the only ones blocking progress.

5. End the Filibuster Rule.

The filibuster was originally meant only to slow things down to cause due consideration, to give Senators more time to make their case and persuade other Senators to a different outcome.

It was not meant to impose a tyranny of the minority permanently on voting in the Senate.

So, this is the perfect time for the Senate Democrats to grow a backbone and use the 'nuclear option' and end the current vote-killing filibuster rule once and for all.

Let's make them restore majority rule democracy to the United States Senate!!!

6. The best tactic for all Dems now is to define republicans.

It would be very easy to make a series of ads about what republicans are. Show Palin rallies, Limbaugh statements and video (about wanting Obama to fail, stem cell research, the Magic Negro, the little, black man-child, and Haiti), DeMint and Obama's Waterloo, Curling Iron Brown's rally, Ensign, Stanford and Diaper Dave Vitter and their family values, criminalize abortion, Cheney and the six week Iraq war with our troops welcomed by flowers, the need for more wars, clips showing republicans saying Clinton's tax increases would destroy the economy, refer to the "Republican Impeachment of President Clinton" and so on and so on. It would be relatively easy to make nearly two-thirds of the electorate physically ill at the thought of voting republican.

Democrats also should encourage open warfare between all factions of the Reich wing republicans and more moderate republicans. Many of the Reich wing republicans are at their ugliest when attacking other republicans.
