Suggestion Box - What can I personally do between now and November to advance Democratic Ideals?
Edited on Tue Jan-19-10 11:15 PM by TomCADem
I have my ideas, but I am curious about how individual DUers would personally act between now and November of this year, particularly in light of Brown's win. I am not asking what you think other DUers should do. Rather, what do plan to do, and is it different than your original plan? I am looking for some new ideas, since my contribution to Coakely did not quite do the trick. (I could not vote, of course, since I don't live in Mass).

As for "Democratic Ideals" feel free to supply your own definition.

5. i'm thinking all politics is local. let's bring in new progressives.

bring a friend into the progressive fold.

i'll admit i wasn't always one. i was much more libertarian in my mid 20s. it took others to bring me in; to show me that corporatism was as active a source of of tyranny as government could ever be. and that even though regulated capitalism and small business can be a good thing, many areas should not be governed by a profit motive.

i'm convinced progressives have the right plan for America. spending money on our country and not on interventionism. providing jobs for our workers. and defending their right to a good wage and to organize. making sure that no American goes bankrupt over health bills, as is the status quo in every other first world country.

our side cares about people. we need to bring more people in.

i'm sad about the results tonight. but i'm proud to be a progressive, and i'm not about to give up.

6. Don't take anything for granted
Martha Coakley did and she paid for it.

She thought it was a safe seat so didn't campaign as much as Brown did.
