Thank you, DU!

When I came here today, I was feeling down, almost ready to give this whole thing a break. And, it wasn't just over MA, but it certainly seemed like the last straw.

I'm mad as hell, and I certainly don't want to take it any more. But, quitting is what the Repubs would want. They want me to feel as if hope is lost and that fighting them is fruitless. It's beyond exhausting, mentally and emotionally, but I believe more than ever that it's vital.

I moved to DC (for work) last summer, but instead of being turned on to politics, I'm turned off. Stupid elected officials just trying to save their sorry butts, moronic teabaggers, loud-mouthed yakers (mostly on the right, but some one the left).

Everyone is yelling, but no one is winning.

Mostly, I'm just feeling disaffected by this administration. A year ago, oh, we were so happy then. But ever since, they haven't fought back. Obama never said "We won, you lost, deal with it." I think that would have made all the difference in the world. Use the people's anger against those who deserve it. I know it has been an uphill battle, but offering to carry the other guy's baggage doesn't make it any easier. The Dems just gave all their power back to the Repubs (and even worse, to the mouth breathers). And I don't know if I can stand up for people who just throw away what I worked to give them in the first place. I've practically given up Keith and Rachel because I can't care if our elected officials don't care. What's the point???

Honestly, as I was riding the metro this morning, I considered moving out of this country. Maybe a nice European country that gives a rat about its people. Canada might just be too cold.

But coming here reminds me why I care, and how many more people care. We are important, and we can be heard. I do hope this is a turning point for the administration (should be). Hope is not lost, and even if they try to ignore us, they can't win without us.

DU, thanks for calming me down and getting me back on track (and keeping me in this country, haha). Have a great day :hi:
