Now is Not the Time for Tears...

After the recent disapointment of the Massachusetts special election, Democrats are naturally upset at the consequences.

But the despite the carnage...

I say that now is not the time for tears...

I say that it's time to kick ass and take names in 2010.

1. K and R
Agree. Let's get to work. And if our DEM leadership doesn't want to fight for us...VOTE THEM ALL OUT!

2. Don't mourn, organize!
Coleman took Wellstone's seat. And now Franken's there. It can be done.

3. Here here! The progressive movement has a long history of both achievements and setbacks
Edited on Wed Jan-20-10 11:45 AM by Politicub
We need to fight and always will need to fight for progress for America and to improve the human condition around the world.

We stand on the shoulders of the abolitionists, the Suffragettes, the muckrakers, the LGBT folk who fought back at Stonewall. When I feel down and out and that the odds are stacked against us, I draw strength from the progressive movement that has always been a powerful change agent throughout human history. So much has been achieved, but not once has it been easy. The establishment has always fought tooth and nail to maintain its power.

But you know what? So much is on our side. More passion, more positivity, more creativity, more zeal for our planet and its inhabitants.

And remember the words of who we celebrated on Monday:

"The arc of history is long . . .. . . . . but it bends toward justice." MLK, Jr.

I believe this with all of my heart and soul. It energizes me and keeps me fighting.

Yes, we need to heal fractures among us, and yes, we need to examine what we could be doing better. But believe me, we will prevail. It may not be tomorrow, and it may not be in this decade, but history and the universal laws of the universe are all on our side.
