Al Hunt gave a pretty depressing assessment for the Democrats on Bloomberg after last night |
He said the one possible saving grace is that if the republicans don't constructively work with the Democrats, they might be in trouble
I don't know if I buy it or not, but I do believe that the republicans will NOT work with the Democrats. There strategy from the start has been to insure that the Democrats fail, which is why the struggle to compromise was a complete failure

1. The Democrats need to address the problems we have with unemployment and job creation. |
Specifically bringing back manufacturing jobs to this country. Lets put forth legislation that will do that and see if the Republicans have the nerve to stand in the way.

2. you're right, and they have to forget about getting re-elected, and just doing their job |
Unfortunately, from the comments coming from Congress, I don't think it will happen

3. Republicans are not gaining |
even the WSJ/NBC poll said that today. Tea partiers are not republicans. Some are right wing cooks but most are mad at tone deaf, unresponsive government not doing what we sent them to do. Brown didn't even day he was a repug and none of the Gingrichs and Palins showed up. They are less popular than dems.

4. Well then maybe Hunt's assessment isn't to far off. It may not be great for the Democrats |
but it is no victory for the republicans either
